Chocolate Syrup

Don’t you sometimes find yourself just standing in the kitchen, lost, not knowing exactly what is it that you want, but you know you’re craving chocolate..

It’s always good to have some chocolate syrup available at hand..


Chocolate Syrup:

1- 1 cup water
2- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
4- 1 cup granulated sugar
5- 2 tbsp cornstarch
6- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
7- pinch salt

1- Combine the water, cocoa powder, sugars and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Over medium heat, whisk to dissolve any lumps.
2- Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, watching carefully to make sure it doesn’t boil over– turn down the heat if necessary (trust me you will find it necessary)
3- Stir in vanilla and salt.
4- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.

You will never want to eat any store bought syrup ever again!
